Melissa Collins is a Texas-based singer/songwriter and one half of the dynamic music duo MCSVG. With roots in the hills of Eastern Kentucky—just down the road from legends like Chris Stapleton and Loretta Lynn—Melissa’s love of songwriting and performance began early, shaped by the soulful sounds of her Appalachian upbringing.
In 2009, she followed her dream westward to Los Angeles, determined to share her music with the world. Within two years, she signed with a label and released her debut EP—an independent triumph that was submitted in six categories for the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year (“Don’t Give Up”), Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical).
Throughout her career, Melissa has performed alongside musical icons—from country legends like George Jones to rock greats like Slash—and collaborated with top-tier studio musicians including Tim Pierce (Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson) and Paul Bushnell (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, The Weeknd). Her original music has been featured in Emmy Award-winning web series, and Grammy-nominated artists have covered her songs.
Today, Melissa channels her experience and artistry into MCSVG, her creative partnership with songwriter Savannah Gates. Together, they craft deeply emotional, genre-blending music designed to heal, awaken, and connect. Their growing catalog includes five powerful singles: “Magic,” “Can’t Let Go,” “Let It Burn,” “Queen,” and “Broke Open Wide.” With more music on the way, MCSVG continues to inspire audiences across platforms—with songs available everywhere music is streamed.
